just a bookish lass who went back to uni in her forties to finally study english literature.

we got here via the winding road of: high school dropout : tafe : primary education + psychology double degree (that i quit after three years) : more tafe (certificate in education support) : starting a degree in creative writing and history only to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in journalism, politics and international relations : working in newspapers and universities : having kids : freelance writing : blogging : jumping in headfirst to graduate level literature with jolly naïveté and an omnipresent google.

2022 got me writing an honours thesis on the depiction of domesticity and homemaking in the novels of early colonial Australian women.

i like food, eating, crosswords, cats, libraries, crochet, 19th century housekeeping manuals, tea, old kitchens, writing in pencil, emotional support book stacks, making polite excuses, and oxford commas.

i live in melbourne/naarm on the lands of the Wurundjeri people, land which was never ceded. always was, always will be.
